while Saul let fame fuel his arrogance. David remained humble even when whole nation praised him. I Samuel 18:14 NLT says: “David continued to succeed in everything he did, for the Lord was with him.” David succeed in everything he did & became famous through out the land. David proved that true character isn’t just about how you act when you are down but how you stay humble when you are on top.
He never let popularity get in to his head. He refused to use popular support to his advantage against Saul. Don’t allow popularity to twist your perception of self.
In a world that prizes self promotion wearing the “clothing of humility” in 1 Peter 5:5 is often seems as out of style, yet remains the vital garment a person can wear.
To keep your heart in check
1. LISTEN ACTIVELY
Value others voices, especially when they disagree with you.
Are you willing to listen when they disagree with you?
2. AUDIT YOUR FEELINGS
Honestly review your daily reactions.
How are you responding to everyone around you?
3. CHECK YOUR PRIDE
Ask yourself if your motives were driven by ego.
PRAYER
Dear God, help me listen to others while they disagree with me and examine my motives in action. Teach me to Stay humble in every situation of my life. Amen.
