DAY 63 – SAMSON strength with responsibility

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE: Judges 13-15 chapters DEVOTION

Samson’s birth was announced by an angel to his parents. He was chosen to be a Nazirite set apart for God’s purpose to begin delivering Israel from the Philistines. Because Samson misused his strength and gave in to temptation, many remember him as a failure. He spent last days in captivity, grinding grain in an enemy prison, and people often say his potential was wasted.

Yet, despite his mistakes, Samson still fulfilled God’s purpose. He began Israel’s deliverance, just as God had promised before his birth. Though he did not live perfectly, God still worked through him. Samson could have strengthened the nation and led people back to worship God.

Instead, he allowed fleshly desire and careless choices to weaken him. His strength came from God, but it was reduced when he played with sin. His life reminds us that spiritual power must be protected by discipline and obedience.

LESSONS

1. Great strength in one area of life does not cancel great weaknesses in another.

2. God’s presence does not override a person’s free will.

3. God can still use us in spite of our mistakes. Guard your heart carefully. Do not take God’s gifts lightly. Seek divine guidance in every decision. Practice self-control and humility. Stay close to God in prayer and obedience.

PRAYER

Dear God, help me to guard my heart and seek Your guidance and will in my everyday life. Teach me to use the gifts You have given me wisely and humbly. Amen.
