TODAY’S SCRIPTURE : Judges 1-4 chapters DEVOTION
Judges 3:31 (NLT) “After Ehud, Shamgar, son of Anath, rescued Israel. He once killed 600 Philistines with an ox goad.”
Shamgar was likely a farmer by profession according to history. When the Philistines attacked Israel, he did not wait for special weapons or perfect conditions. He stood up for God’s people using what he already had an ox goad, a simple farming tool.
Shamgar teaches us a powerful lesson that is God uses what is already in our hands. He didn’t focus on what he lacked. He focused on what God had given him. He stayed committed to his assignment.
He kept his eyes on the purpose, not the problems. Sometimes we may feel small, unprepared, or overlooked. But when we place our time, talents, and efforts in God’s hands, He can turn ordinary tools into extraordinary victories.
Use what you have. Stay focused. Use your skills, even if they seem small. Serve God where you are, with what you have. Don’t wait for “perfect” conditions start now. Stay focused on the calling God has given you.
PRAYER
Dear God, thank You for what You have placed in my life. Help me to use what I have wisely and faithfully. Teach me to stay focused on Your will and to trust You in every assignment. Amen.
