TODAY’s SCRIPTURE: Luke10-12 chapters
DEVOTION
Luke 12:16-21
In this passage, we read about a rich man who accumulated great wealth and planned to build bigger barns to store it all. But God said to him, “You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?”
It is easy to allow other things to cloud our spiritual vision. We want to make enough money to take that vacation, buy a car, own a house, and achieve many other things. The list seems endless. Sometimes, we become so caught up in our careers, money, and success that we leave God out of the equation.
Matthew 6:33 says, “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”
God knows what we need, and He promises to provide for us as we put Him first.
Therefore, make a conscious decision to channel your ambition, and life toward this one holy pursuit that is seeking God and His kingdom above all else. When we do this, we will become less consumed by the cares and concerns of the world and more focused on what truly matters.
Just as you care for your physical body by feeding it the best and healthiest food possible, do not neglect your spiritual health. Nourish your spirit through prayer, reading God’s Word, and spending time in His presence.
You cannot afford to neglect your spiritual health, my dear friend. At all costs, take care of your spiritual health.
PRAYER
Lord, help me to take my spiritual health more seriously than my physical health. As I remain committed to this decision, be with me and guide me. As I navigate through this day, give me opportunities to glorify You in all that I do. Help me to seek Your kingdom above all else and trust You to provide for my needs. In Jesus name, amen.
