TODAY’s SCRIPTURE : Malachi 3-4 Chapters
DEVOTION
Malachi 3:16 (NKJV)
“Then those who feared the Lord spoke to one another, And the Lord listened and heard them; So a book of remembrance was written before Him For those who fear the Lord And who meditate on His name.”
Some people mistakenly assume that the only place where holy and sacred things take place is within the walls of a church. Yet this verse reminds us that every time we talk about the Lord with another believer, God is paying close attention.
In fact, the phrase Malachi uses here carries the beautiful thought of bending down so as not to miss a word.
What an amazing thought!
God deeply desires that we spend time with other believers discussing Him, His attributes, His Word, and what He is doing in our lives.
This should give us even more reason to build friendships with fellow believers and take part in Bible studies, fellowship, and church gatherings.
The next time you get together with your Christian friends, don’t just discuss the weather, fashion or the latest news. It’s cool to discuss such things but make the Lord a central part of your conversations.
HE IS LISTENING.
PRAYER
Lord, thank You for helping me understand that You are listening to me. When I talk with my friends, help us to make You and Your Word central to our conversations. May our fellowship bring glory and honor to You.
In Jesus name, amen.
