TODAY’s SCRIPTURE : Ezekiel 1–3

Ezekiel 3:15 NLT
“Then I came to the colony of Judean exiles in Tel-abib, beside the Kebar River. I was overwhelmed and sat among them for seven days.”
Ezekiel had just received a powerful and difficult message from God. When he arrived among the exiles, he did not immediately speak. He sat among them, overwhelmed, for seven days.
His silence reveals something important that Ezekiel was deeply burdened by the condition of the people. This was the customary period of mourning for the dead. Read Genesis 50:10 for better understanding. Ezekiel was actually mourning from those who are spiritually dead.
This challenges us today. We can easily become consumed with our own lives our needs, our families, our problems, and our plans. But what about the people around us who are far from God?
There are people who may look fine on the outside but are spiritually lost and desperately need Jesus.
Do you notice them?
Do you pray for them?
Do you carry them in our hearts before God?
A genuine burden for others moves us beyond simply saying, God bless them to actually interceding for them.
Who is God placing on your heart to pray for?
Maybe it is a family member, a friend, a colleague, a neighbor, or someone you have not spoken to in years. Don’t ignore that burden but turn it into prayer.
PRAYER
Lord, give me a heart like Yours. Help me not to be so focused on myself and my own family that I forget those who are spiritually lost. Put people on my heart and give me the burden to pray for their salvation. Teach me to love them, intercede for them, and be a light that points them to Jesus. May I never become indifferent to those who need You. In Jesus name, amen.
