TODAY’s SCRIPTURE : Proverbs 24-27 Chapters
DEVOTION
“For though the righteous fall seven times, they rise again, but the wicked stumble when calamity strikes.” Proverbs 24:16 (NIV)
Why Seven?
Why specifically seven?
Why not six or eight?
In the Bible, the number seven often represents completeness or fullness.
In ancient Hebrew culture, the number seven is associated with ENTIRETY and COVENANT. “seven times” is not a mathematical limit but a poetic expression meaning:
EVERY TIME
NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES
The emphasis is not on how often the righteous fall, but on the certainty that they rise again.
The God who created the heavens and the earth, the stars, the planets, the sun, and the moon is the same God who extends His endless mercy and grace to us when we fail.
Maybe you have been praying and waiting for the same breakthrough, yet all you see is disappointment.
May be you have attended interview after interview, only to face rejection.
May be you have been fighting the same sin but kept stumbling.
God’s promise is that No matter how many times you fall, His grace gives you the strength to rise again.
Falling does not define a righteous person but rising does.
Your current situation may look like failure, but God has not finished writing your story. He is able to restore, strengthen, and establish you. Keep trusting Him, keep meditating on His Word, and keep walking with Him. In His perfect time, He will lift you up again.
Don’t quit after the fall. Rise again through God’s grace.
PRAYER
Dear God, thank You for Your wonderful promise that even when I fall, You give me the strength to rise again. In my struggle with sin, discouragement, disappointments, and unanswered prayers, but today I choose to place my hope in You. Thank You for Your unfailing mercy and grace that never run out. Help me to trust You and continue walking with You until I see Your purposes fulfilled in my life.
In Jesus name, Amen.
