TODAY’s SCRIPTURE: Psalms 115–117 Chapters
DEVOTION
“I love the Lord because he hears my voice and my prayer for mercy. Because he bends down to listen, I will pray as long as I have breath.”
Psalm 116:1,2 (NLT)
Our God is alive, and He responds when we pray. More than that, Scripture tells us that He bends down to listen to our prayers.
Imagine a person in a high position such as a Prime Minister or Chief Minister having a conversation with a small child. If that leader chose to bend down and listen carefully to the child, it would be seen as a remarkable act of humility and kindness. It would likely be shared across social media, featured in news headlines, and admired by many.
After all, people in positions of authority have assistants and resources to help them. They could easily ask someone to lift the child up so they could speak face to face. Yet when they choose to bend down themselves, it reveals genuine care and love.
Now consider this
The God who created the stars, the sun, the moon, the planets, the Milky Way galaxy, the mountains, the seas, and every living thing the God who created you and me is the very God of whom Scripture says that “He bends down to listen.”
What an incredible privilege!
The Creator of the universe is not distant or uninterested. He hears every prayer, every cry, every whisper, and every plea for mercy.
If you are discouraged today, remember that God is near. He is listening carefully to every prayer you offer. He answers according to His perfect wisdom, timing, and love, always seeking what is best for His children.
PRAYER
Dear God,
Thank You for bending down to listen to my voice and my prayers. Thank You for the prayers You have already answered and for those You will answer in Your perfect time. I am grateful that I can come to You at any moment, knowing that You are always listening. Amen.
