16 JUNE 2026, DAY 167 – FEARLESS IN THE FACE OF BAD NEWS

TODAY’s SCRIPTURE : Psalms 112–114 Chapters

DEVOTION

“They do not fear bad news; they confidently trust the Lord to care for them.” Psalm 112:7 (NLT)

Fear is often described as a powerful and unpleasant emotion caused by the perception of danger or uncertainty.

In our daily lives, we face many fears and anxieties like fear of exams, careers, loneliness, failure, or even interacting with people. The list seems endless.

Psalm 112:7 offers a comforting promise. When fear inevitably creeps into our hearts and sometimes these emotions become so overwhelming that they paralyse us, preventing us from moving forward and trapping us in a cycle of worry.

A different Perspective As believers, however, we are called to respond differently. When we place our trust in the Lord, fear and worry no longer control our lives. This verse does not promise a life free from trials or bad news, but it assures us that God will take care of us regardless of what we face.

Zephaniah 3:17 reminds us that “With His love, He will calm all your fears.” God has an amazing way of handling the situations that trouble us. He not only sees our greatest struggles but also cares about our smallest fears.

What a privilege it is to know a loving and faithful God who watches over us with such tender care.

PRAYER

Dear God, No matter what happens in my life today, I choose not to fear bad news because my trust is in You. I know that You care for me and will take care of every detail of my life. Calm my fears, strengthen my faith, and help me rest in Your unfailing love. In Jesus name, Amen. ‎
