TODAY’S SCRIPTURE : Kings 9-12 chapters DEVOTION
Athaliah, the mother of Ahaziah, upon hearing of her son’s death, rose to destroy the entire royal family. In the midst of this darkness, Jehosheba, Ahaziah’s sister, courageously rescued the infant Joash from certain death. With the help of the priest Jehoiada, she hid him in the temple for six long years while Athaliah ruled.
Imagine the fear, the tension, and the uncertainty during that time. Yet, in the seventh year, everything changed. Joash was brought out and crowned king, and Athaliah’s rule came to an end.
This story reminds us that even in the darkest and most uncertain seasons, God’s plan is never shaken. He raises people with courage at the right time to protect His purpose. Though it may seem hidden for a while, His will always prevails. God preserved David’s lineage, just as He faithfully preserves every promise.
PRAYER
Lord, even in the darkest seasons of my life, let Your will prevail. Give me the courage to trust to you completely, Amen.
