Day 81 – WISDOM

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE : I Kings 1-4 chapters DEVOTION

When given the opportunity to ask for anything, Solomon chose wisdom, an understanding heart to lead the nation and make right decisions. Instead of seeking power, wealth, or success, he desired the ability to discern what is right.

We too are invited to ask God for wisdom. As it says in James 1:5 (NIV), “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” Notice that Solomon asked for wisdom to fulfill his responsibility, not for God to do the work for him. In the same way, we shouldn’t ask God to act for us, but rather through us. God granted Solomon great wisdom, but it was his responsibility to apply it in every area of his life. He used it well in governing the nation, showing that wisdom is not just something we receive it’s something we live out.

WISDOM

1.The ability to discern what is best

2.The strength of character to act upon it.

More than anything, we need a close relationship with God the true source of all wisdom. Not everyone may have GREAT WISDOM, but everyone has the opportunity to remain FAITHFUL to Him.

PRAYER

Lord, I need Your wisdom and guidance to navigate my life. Help me not only to seek wisdom but to apply it in every situation, Amen.
