TODAY’S SCRIPTURE : II Samuel 17-20 chapters
DEVOTION
In David’s time, many kings would wipe out the families of their rivals to secure their throne. But David chose a different path, he showed kindness to Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan and grandson of Saul. Despite everything that had happened, David invited Mephibosheth into the king’s palace. Imagine how Mephibosheth must have felt afraid, uncertain, and perhaps unworthy to stand before the king. Yet instead of judgment, he received kindness.
In the same way, when God offers us forgiveness and a place with Him, we may feel unworthy. We might think we don’t deserve it but God’s grace isn’t based on our worth, it’s based on His love. A grand feast awaits for each of us who accept His gift through faith in Jesus Christ. Not because we earned it, but because He promised it. Ephesians 2:8 (NLT) For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God.
PRAYER
Lord, thank You for Your kindness and grace in my life. Help me to honour Your grace and walk in gratitude every day. Amen.
