TODAY’S SCRIPTURE: 1 Samuel 23-26 chapters DEVOTION
David had an opportunity to kill Saul, but he chose not to. Even though Saul was living in sin and rebelling against God, David still respected Saul because he was the anointed king. David understood that the position Saul held was given by God. Because of this, he refused to harm him. His actions teach us the importance of respecting authority.
In Romans 13:1–7, the Bible reminds us that God allows governments and leaders to be in positions of authority. Sometimes we may not understand why certain leaders are placed over us, but like David, we are called to respect their roles.
However, God has the highest authority. We should never allow any leader to pressure us into doing something that goes against God’s commands. Respect authority, but keep your obedience first to God, who is the ultimate authority.
PRAYER
Dear God, help me respect people in authority. Amen

Devotion
సౌలును చంపడానికి దావీదుకు అవకాశం వచ్చింది, కానీ అతను అలా చేయకూడదని నిర్ణయించుకున్నాడు. సౌలు పాపంలో జీవిస్తూ దేవునికి వ్యతిరేకంగా తిరుగుబాటు చేస్తున్నప్పటికీ, అతను అభిషేకించబడిన రాజు కాబట్టి దావీదు సౌలును గౌరవించాడు. సౌలుకు ఆ స్థానం దేవుడు ఇచ్చాడని దావీదు అర్థం చేసుకున్నాడు. దీని కారణంగా, అతనికి హాని కలిగించడానికి అతను నిరాకరించాడు. అతని చర్యలు అధికారాన్ని గౌరవించడం యొక్క ప్రాముఖ్యతను మనకు బోధిస్తాయి.
