TODAY’S SCRIPTURE: Joshua 21-24 chapters DEVOTION
In Joshua 24:21, the Israelites boldly declared that they would never forsake the Lord. They promised wholehearted obedience. Yet, their actions did not match their words. Soon after, in the Book of Judges, God charged them for breaking His covenant and turning away from His commands.
Their promises sounded strong, but their commitment was weak. This reminds us that talk is cheap.
It is easy to say, “I love you God.”
It is easy to say, “I will follow you.”
But it is much harder to live it out daily. Walking with God is costly.
When you truly decide to follow Him, it will require your time, your energy, your comfort, Sometimes even relationships, Perseverance through hardships.
Obedience is not always convenient.
Faithfulness is not always easy.
But it is always worth it. Many people are good at speaking faith, but fewer are consistent in living it.
What have you promised God lately?
Are you standing by it, no matter what comes your way?
Are your actions matching your words?
Are you a talker or a doer?
God is not looking for perfect people, but for sincere and faithful ones who walk in obedience every day. Let our lives speak louder than our words.
PRAYER
Dear God, Help me not only to speak about faith, but to live it out daily. Give me strength to walk in obedience, even when it is difficult. Let my life bring You glory. Amen.
