TODAY’S SCRIPTURE : Joshua 13-16 chapters DEVOTION
In passage Joshua 14:8-14 briefly talks about one of the unsung heroes of the Bible, Caleb. He & Joshua had been sent to explore promised land.
When this group returned, only Caleb & Joshua replied that they could go ahead & take the land with God’s help. Others instilled fear in the people that it’s dangerous. In the end, the Lord punished entire generation for refusing to listen to the word except Caleb & Joshua.
What was the Secret to Caleb’s Success?
In Joshua 14:8 mentions that Caleb wholeheartedly followed the Lord.
LESSONS FROM CALEB’S LIFE
1. DID NOT COMPROMISE
He refused to go with the majority opinion when he knew it’s against God’s will. He gave utmost importance to God’s approval than any human being.
2. TAKE GOD AT HIS WORD
Caleb had to endure forty years of desert wandering before he could enter promise land. He never doubted God’s ability. Caleb had to wait for forty long years. My age is not even 40, then why should be frustrated & complaining all the time. All through the desert, one thing he had to do is wait, which most of us don’t like. But in the season of waiting God tests faith levels only if we get through, he’ll take you to another level or our most awaited promise land.
