DAY 55 – THE WALLS OF JERICHO FELL

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE : Joshua 5-8 chapters DEVOTION

The city of Jericho was built thousands of years before Joshua was born. It is known as one of the oldest cities in the world. Its walls were massive some sources say they were about 25 feet high and 20 feet thick. Jericho stood as a symbol of military strength and human power.

Just imagine how huge and unbreakable those walls must have looked to the Israelites. Now, think about what God asked them to do. Instead of attacking with weapons, God told them to march around the city once a day for six days. On the seventh day, they were to march seven times, the priests were to blow their trumpets, and the people were to shout. Then, God promised, the walls would fall.

This plan must have sounded strange and illogical. Marching and shouting didn’t look like a battle strategy. Yet, it was God’s way and it guaranteed victory if they obeyed. The Israelites trusted God more than their own understanding. They followed His instructions, even when it didn’t make sense. And because of their obedience, the walls collapsed.

In the same way, God may give you instructions about your studies, friendships, relationships, or career that don’t seem clear to you right now. You may wonder,

             “How will this work?”

             “Why this way?”

But remember God sees the beginning, the middle, and the end.

HE KNOWS WHAT IS BEST FOR YOU.

When you trust His plan and walk in obedience, He will make a way even when it looks impossible.
PRAYER

Dear God, help me to obey Your instructions, even when they don’t make sense to my mind. I trust You with all my heart and understanding. Guide my steps and strengthen my faith. In Jesus name, Amen.
