TODAY’S SCRIPTURE: Deuteronomy 28-34 chapters
DEVOTION
Deuteronomy 28:1 (NLT) “If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully keep all his commands that I am giving you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the world.”
The word obey reminds me of Abraham. God instructed him to “leave your native country, your relatives, and your family behind and go to the land that I will show you.”
This was not a normal instruction. It must have been very difficult for Abraham to accept. He was used to the environment, his people, culture, weather, and way of life. Suddenly, God asked him to leave everything and go to an unknown place. Just imagine there are no mobiles to connect also.
It must have been one of the most challenging decisions of his life. Yet, even in that moment of uncertainty and sacrifice, Abraham chose to obey God. No matter the cost, he was willing to pay the price. His obedience showed his deep love for God. TRUE OBEDIENCE FLOWS FROM LOVE
Only when we truly love God can we obey Him completely.
PRAYER
Dear God, help me to be consistent in my obedience and in doing Your will in my life, Amen.
