TODAY’S SCRIPTURE : Numbers 19-21 chapters
DEVOTION
The Lord instructed Moses to speak to the rock, but instead, he struck it not once, but twice. Because of this act of disobedience, Moses was not allowed to enter the Promised Land.
Was God’s punishment too harsh?
After all, the people constantly complained and rebelled against God and against Moses. However, Moses was the leader and spiritual model for the entire nation. With such great responsibility, his actions carried great weight. By disobeying God’s clear command, he failed to honor God in front of the people.
This reminds us that obedience is not optional, especially for those whom God has entrusted with leadership. Even in moments of pressure and frustration, God desires faithfulness.
LESSON LEARNT
1.Concentrating on present challenges and responsibilities is the best way to prepare for what God has planned for the future.
2.God desires consistent obedience throughout our lives.
PRAYER
Dear God, help me not to give in to the challenges and pressures of life. Help me to stay focused on my responsibilities in every situation. Teach me to be consistent in my obedience. In Jesus name, Amen.
