TODAY’S SCRIPTURE : Exodus 13- 16 chapters
DEVOTION
“The Lord guided them by a pillar of cloud during the day and a pillar of fire at night.”
– Exodus 13:21 (NLT)
Why did God use a cloud? Why not something else? The cloud signifies a powerful symbol of God’s tangible presence. It represented His guidance, protection, and glory.
In the Bible, the cloud often points to God Himself and here, it beautifully reflects the presence of GOD.
Characteristics of the pillar of Cloud
1. He Guided them
Exodus 13:21 (NLT) God didn’t just rescue Israel; He personally led them every step of the way. Today, the Holy Spirit lives within us.
When we allow Him to lead, He guides us in our:
Sight (what we focus on)
Talk (how we speak)
Thoughts & words
Behaviour
Actions
When we follow His lead, we don’t walk in confusion, we walk with direction.
2. He Confused the Enemy
Exodus 14:24 (NLT) The same cloud that guided God’s people threw the enemy into total confusion. What protects you can also disrupt what comes against you. When God is with you, the enemy cannot clearly see, plan, or succeed.
3. He Communicated
Exodus 33:11 (NLT) “The Lord would speak to Moses face to face, as one speaks to a friend.” God didn’t just lead Moses, He spoke with him like a friend.
Do you have this kind of relationship with God Are you ready to listen, talk, and walk with Him daily?
PRAYER
Dear God, thank You for revealing YOUR PRESENCE to me. Holy Spirit, have Your way in me. Guide my thoughts, words, and actions. Lead me every day. In JESUS name,
Amen.
