DAY 1 – DISOBEDIENCE

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE – Genesis 1 to 4 chapters

DEVOTION

Satan tries to tempt Eve in this particular verse , which says One day he (satan) asked the woman “Did God really say you must not eat the fruit from any of the trees in the garden?”- Genesis 3:1 ( NLT )

The Woman was convinced, she saw that the tree was beautiful and it’s fruit looked delicious and she wanted the wisdom it would give .so she took some of the fruit and ate it. Then she gave some to her husband, who was with her , and he ate it too and lead to DISOBEDIENCE- Genesis 3:6(NLT)

This one act led to disobedience.

Disobedience means refusing to obey someone in authority.

When we disobey God, it leads to consequences, but God in His mercy also brings redemption.

DISOBEDIENCE leads to CONSEQUENCES followed by REDEMPTION .

1) ADAM & EVE

Adam and Eve disobeyed God by eating the forbidden fruit. The result was shame, fear, and separation from God. Sin entered the human race. As a result men had to labor, Women had to bear children with pain. Humanity was broken. But God didn’t leave them there. He sent Jesus Christ who came as a man, died on the cross, and paid the price for our sin so ,that we could be restored and brought back into right relationship with God.

2) JONAH

God told Jonah to go to Nineveh, but he ran to Tarshish instead. What happened? A great storm arose. Jonah was thrown into the sea and the storm stopped. That storm was God’s way of giving Jonah a U-turn back to obedience. When Jonah finally obeyed, the city repented and God spared it from destruction. Disobedience brought a storm. Obedience brought salvation.

3) YOU

Maybe God has asked you to: Take a step of faith,

Let go of a relationship,

Give up a habit,

Walk away from something you love,

God gives us the choice to say Yes or No. But He knows what is best for us.

“People ruin their lives by their own foolishness and then are angry at the Lord.” – Proverbs 19:3 (NLT)

Every day we have a choice to choose God’s way or our way.

PRAYER

Dear GOD, thank You for Your Word. Forgive me for my disobedient attitude. Redirect my path, Lord. Today I choose to obey You and Your Word.

In Jesus’ name,

Amen. ‎
